In August 2005, we had the opportunity to become friends with Jack Stuhler, founder of Eezi Awn. We met him during his latest adventure, traveling from Argentina to Alaska with his companion Margaret in their Land Cruiser Troopie. We were so taken by this man’s character and the quality of his tent and awning that we decided to import Eezi Awn equipment to the US.

During our encounter, Jack explained that Eezi Awn has been producing rooftop tents since 1983. Some of his early tents, which are older than the competition are still in use today. His original designs are now the basis for many other company’s products, and Jack proudly proclaims that none are better. We think he’s right.

The all new Series 3 line of tents is the latest design from the leaders in Rooftents. Eezi Awn redesigned the side windows in the Series 3 to be much larger than before, and have modified the four interior pockets to meet the new window dimensions.

Series 3 Rooftents are manufactured of heavy duty ripstop canvas, double stitched through out, and stretched onto aluminum bows which are fixed to top quality polyurethane coated plyboards supported with anodized aluminum hardware and stainless steel hinges.

Series 3 T-Top Rooftents offer all the rugged and durable features offered on the Series 3 line, with the addition of an in-tent ladder capacity and an add-a-room feature. The T-Top essentially creates a room at the back of the vehicle that can function as a changing room, or additional sleeping quarters. You can also access the back of your vehicle with out leaving the tent.

Series 3 Family Rooftent is designed for use with an expedition style trailer, and a size large enough for the family to utilize. It has room for four, two ladders and an internal privacy screen.

Econo Rooftent is manufactured of heavy duty Oxford nylon canvas, uses a unique design incorporating the rainfly into the tent, and utilizes the same platform fabrication as the Series 3.

Series 3 Features:

• Board locking mechanism is made of anodized custom designed aluminum extrusions and is the only roof tent in the industry that has this system
• Mattress is made of 60mm laminated hi-density foam and covered in fabric. One side is softer than the other to allow you to choose your support preference. It is the only one that is SABS (South Africa Bureau of Standards) approved.
• Flysheet is made of lightweight reinforced PVC, and supported free of the roof by aluminum bows
• Mosquito mesh protection at both entry doors and window openings
• Zip-up privacy panels on both sides to cover windows internally
• Badge stitching is done with the finest quality wax coated yarn, which swells when wet and closes holes that may arise during the sewing process
• Unique internal bungee mechanism assists when stowing the tent

• Another room! Large lower-level, clip on, add-a-room manufactured of heavy duty ripstop fabric with a full opening weather proof window and door with mosquito net
• Allows access to either the upper bedroom section or the back of your vehicle from inside the lower portion of the tent without ever going outside
• Rear panel and ground sheet
• Unique slide-out anodized aluminum roof extender

• The Econo Rooftent offers many of the quality features of the Series 3 tent in a more econonical model
• The tent material is heavy duty Oxford nylon canvas, and offers a slight alteration in design with a rain fly incorporated into the tent itself.
