Front Runner Roof Rack - Land Rover Discovery I & II
$1,140.00 US

The Front Runner Wind Cheetah Slimline Roof Rack features an all aluminum construction, fully welded and powder coated black for long term durability. Their patented slat flooring, with groves to accommodate a 8mm bolt head creates a modular design that allows accessories to be mounted and removed as need without drilling. The 50mm, or 2" profiled edge maintains a low profile and creates less wind resistance. The Wind Cheetah Slimline Rack comes with 6 gutter mount legs and can accommodate extra legs for more support with heavy loads. The full length rack for the Land Rover Discovery is 83" long and 48" wide. PLEASE CALL TO ORDER. ONLINE SHIPPING CALCULATION IS INACCURATE.

Rack is solid. Mounting lets fit Disco II gutters great. I installed the rack by myself, in the rain, but DO NOT recommend doing that. It would have been much easier with a second person. That being said, it was a simple installation and I was able to do it by myself; the rack is just akwardly big for one person. Instructions were very clear, and my kit came with wind deflectors. I opted to not install them (raining, late and dark), but should have. The empty rack vibrates/oscillates at freeway speeds (only between 52 and 58mph) a little bit because of the lack of deflectors. I fully expect that to go away when I put on the deflectors (as instructed) tonight. As far as wind noise, the empty rack is way quieter than I expected even without the deflectors installed. In fact, I would say it was quieter than my Yakima load warrior basket, and my Thule snowboard carriers on Thule bars. The 8mm slots are on the top AND bottom on all rails. This was not totally clear from the front runner page. Prior to purchasing this rack, I researched Hannibal (no longer avaliable in the US, and sort of a Front Runner knock off) and ARB. ARB has a 'Trade Rack', but it's not regularly imported to the USA, and a huge PITA to get here, and the fit kit was not really clearly "avaliable" for the Disco II.
As for Equipt as a company - 5 stars+. Paul was helpful, communicative and great to deal with. I bought my rack on a Monday, and picked it up from the FedEx Freight dock on Wednesday night. He's in the Salt Lake City area, and i'm in the Seattle Area.
Primary usage of this rack for me is for lumber and building products transport. I have zero question it will stand up to years of use and abuse.
If you're ready to move from Thule or Yakima to a professional roof rack system, this thing is it.
Very happy with it. Would recommend this to anybody.
