To date, this is perhaps our most extensive expedition. We traveled 1500 miles is a one week span, with close to 900 of that on dirt. We traveled from SLC to St. George, Utah to the Grand Canyon North rim, through the Grand Staircase Monument, Burr Trail, Capitol Reef N.P., the Henry Mountain Range, and into the Doll House of Canyonlands N.P. Our adventure continued through Dark Canyon and into the remote back entrance of the Needles District of Canyonlands, on the opposing side of the Colorado River. We traversed Lockhart Basin, through Moab and over the La Sal Mountain Range to Colorado, and home to SLC. Whew.
With four vehicles, expedition ready, we experienced territory that few ever have the chance to see. Our goal was self support. We all carried an external 20 gallon fuel capacity, and with the exception of only a couple refueling stops, we achieved our goal. A great journey with great friends. My thanks to Dave Connors, and the rest of the UCE crew for a trip of a lifetime.
