The San Rafael Swell is an incredible formation of uplifted stone that stretches from Price to Hanksville, Utah. It is an area roughly 120 miles long North to South, and 50 miles wide from Salina to Green River. This journey focused on the Northern half above I-70 with a cross country adventure to the largest Dinosaur Quarry in the nation.

Our FJ40 was pretty heavily laden with gear and succumbed to the stress of one tricky climb. We broke a rear driveline. With a little assistance, we removed the rear driveline and actually continued on our journey in front wheel drive. We split from the group and chose to continue our adventure to see if we could make it back to SLC on dirt roads. We crossed the Northern swell, headed up Nine Mile Canyon to the Uintas, and entered SLC by way of Guardsman's pass. 40 miles of pavement to travel 120 miles of terrain.
