The Outlaw Run is the wanderlust child of Perry Loughridge. This year, Perry took us on a breath taking circumnavigation of the Henry Mountains in central Utah. The Outlaw Run is an annual run for the Rising Sun 4x4 Club. Perry lead this years pack of mostly Utah natives into what is historically know as the last mapped territory in the lower United States.
I had the opportunity of seeing a little of the Henrys in '05 during the UCE run, but I hadn't spent the night. We started and ended in Hanksville Utah, and in between we wandered the aspen and pine surround by some of the most famous desert in the country. San Rafael Swell to the north, Capital Reef to the west, Lake Powell to the south, and Canyonalands stretching the whole eastern skyline. Our elevated perch gave us amazing views in every direction. I am truly lucky to be where I am.
