40 years. Six continents. One factory.
Hand-built in South Africa since 1983. Validated by professional expedition teams, safari outfitters, and 4×4 rental fleets across six continents — from Antarctic crossings to Saharan transits to Alaska's Dalton Highway.
Why Eezi-Awn
Built In-House in South Africa
Not licensed. Not overseas. Every Eezi-Awn product is built at the same South African facility where the brand was founded — by skilled artisans, using locally-sourced materials, since 1983. The factory and the brand have never been separated.
Six-Continent Validation
From Antarctic expeditions to Saharan crossings to Alaska's Dalton Highway. Trusted by professional expedition teams, safari operators, and 4×4 rental fleets globally. Not marketing copy — verifiable operating history measured in decades, not seasons.
The Complete Shelter Ecosystem
Rooftop tents, 270° freestanding awnings, the K9 expedition rack platform, and a full accessories catalog — all engineered to work together. The only premium overland shelter brand that covers vehicle-roof to ground from a single factory.
First to Build Them. Still Building Them.
Eezi-Awn was founded in South Africa in 1983 and is among the first manufacturers in the world to produce and export rooftop tents globally — a distinction the brand has held for four decades. While other brands have come, gone, been licensed, or moved manufacturing offshore, Eezi-Awn has stayed where it started, building in-house with skilled artisans and locally-sourced materials.
The product line has been validated across six continents — Antarctic expeditions, Saharan crossings, Alaska's Dalton Highway, the Australian outback, the South American Pampas. Eezi-Awn is the preferred shelter brand for safari operators and 4×4 rental fleets that simply cannot afford gear that fails. Forty years of operating history in the toughest conditions on the planet is not something a competitor can manufacture in a marketing brief.
In the U.S., Eezi-Awn occupies a well-recognized but historically underdistributed position. Buyers who do the research arrive at the brand — they just struggle to find authorized product. Equipt is closing that gap, bringing the full Eezi-Awn ecosystem to a U.S. audience that already respects the name.
“Eezi-Awn doesn't need to be explained. It needs to be findable.”
Rooftop Tents
The Series 3 is the industry benchmark soft-shell — five sizes, 420g poly-cotton wax canvas, also doubles as a trailer tent. The Stealth is the lightweight aluminum hard-shell. The Blade is the 3-side-window clamshell with 80mm foam mattress and integrated LEDs. The XKLUSIV extends the soft-shell line with an extended T-Top roof and ground-level annex room.
Awnings
Manufactured by Eezi-Awn since 1985. The BAT 270 and Manta 270 deliver 100+ sq ft of freestanding 270° shade around the back and side of any vehicle. The Swift and Swift Xtreme are quick-deploy side awnings. All use waterproof PVC or ripstop fabric on anodized aluminum framework.
K9 Roof Rack System
Eezi-Awn's expedition rack platform — matte-black powder-coated extruded aluminum with fully-welded joints (no bolts). At 1-3/8 inches thick, one of the lowest-profile platform racks made. Field-tested at 500 lbs dynamic load, and the only overlanding rack compatible with existing Thule or Yakima sports-bar mounts.
Accessories & Soft Goods
Fridge sliders, RTT annex rooms, awning light strips, mosquito nets, jerry can holders, axe and shovel mounts, Hi-Lift mounts, MAXTRAX mounts, and under-rack table systems — the supporting catalog that lets you build a complete vehicle shelter system from a single brand.
K9 — The Expedition Platform
Powder-coated extruded aluminum with fully-welded joints (not bolts). At 1-3/8 inches thick, one of the lowest-profile platform racks made anywhere. Field-tested at 500 lbs dynamic load, fully kitted, in motion. The only overlanding rack compatible with existing Thule and Yakima sports-bar mounts — so the accessories you already own come with you. Bolt-on mounts available for jerry cans, MAXTRAX, Hi-Lift jacks, axes and shovels, and under-rack tables.

Equipt — Closing the U.S. Distribution Gap
Eezi-Awn is the conclusion most serious U.S. overlanders arrive at — they just historically struggle to buy it. Equipt is closing that gap. Carrying the full Eezi-Awn ecosystem alongside National Luna, Alubox, and Escape Gear means a complete vehicle build, vehicle-roof to ground, from a single source — with U.S. warranty service, freight handling, and Shopify Collective wholesale pull-through.
